On the outcome of the Irish Referendum on the Lisbon Treaty

Statement of the XXXIII NELF meeting, June 13–14 2008, in Larnaca, Cyprus
The 33^rd Meeting on the New European Left Forum, organised in Cyprus on the 13^th- 14^th of June 2008, considers the political verdict of the Irish people expressed in a referendum on the 12 of June 2008, with regard to the Lisbon Treaty, as a confirmation of the correctness of the position of European Left parties and of progressive movements.
The outcome of the Irish Referendum on the Treaty of Lisbon should be respected by all the EU institutions.
