Of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of The Tudeh Party of Iran
The Tudeh Party of Iran Condemns the Terrorist Attack on America

Based on reports by news organizations worldwide, thousands of American citizens have been killed or injured in the aftermath of terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pittsburgh on Tuesday, September 11th. Reports estimate the total casualties could increase to ten thousand dead or injured. The Tudeh Party of Iran sympathizes with the American people and families of innocent people who have become victims of this terrorist attack.

The Tudeh Party of Iran, throughout its 60-year history, has repeatedly opposed such blind terrorism, and has believed that resorting to such methods is never justifiable or defensible. The killing of thousands of innocent people helps only those forces, which at the end aim to intensify violence and military involvement rather than to resolve peacefully the myriad of problems facing the human society.

The Tudeh Party of Iran condemns this terrorist attack against the American people. At the same time, it believes that the rational solution for terrorism is not to wage destructive military adventures, which inevitably lead to further heavy human suffering, but instead to search for the root causes of the problem and then to solve democratically and justly the serious problems facing today's world, especially in the Near and the Middle East.
